An indie rock band from North Caroline, The Avett Brothers comprises of a brothers duo, Seth Avett and Scott Avett. The former plays the guitar whereas the latter masters banjo. The band’s touring members are Joe Kwon on cello; Bob Crawford plays stand-up-bass, and the drummer Jacob Edward. Bob Crawford, the bassist joined the band in 2002 and their first full-length record Country Was, was released. The group went on a tour in order to promote the same album in late 2002. The group combines country, pop, punk, bluegrass melodies in its music. The two brothers became strong partners in the music industry in late 90s, though they have been playing together ever since they were kids. After the release of three records they started experimenting acoustic music during the nights with friends.
