Jeff Dunham: The ventriloquist of the millennium

Jeff Dunham’s fascination with ventriloquism began when he received a Mortimer Snerd dummy for Christmas as a gift in 1970. He soon decided to make his name as a ventriloquist and got inspired by Edgar Bergen. Dunham later attended the Vent Haven ConVENTion when he was in the sixth grade where was eventually declared a ‘retired champion.’ Jeff then took a flight to Los Angeles where he found great success. He later appeared in a number of television shows including ‘Comedy Central Presents’ which earned him a lot of applause.

Leaving his mark

Since appearing on ‘Comedy Central Presents’ in 2003, the Texas native has showed no signs of slowing down and has released six Comedy Central specials and performed sold out shows all over the globe. He even won a Billboard Touring Award for, ‘Top Comedy Tour’ in 2015. In addition to that, he has also written a book, ‘All By My Selves: Walter, Peanut, Achmed and Me’ which made it to the New York Times Best Seller list.
