Mick Jones, the brain behind Foreigner, met with his group members to form a band, Trigger. Without wasting anytime they completed and sent their demo to different record labels. They didn't receive any response at first because the band's initial name was already taken which caused a little misunderstanding but however it made its way to the Atlantic Records. Impressed by the work done, the label signed them and soon after six months of rehearsals they put out their self-titled debut album as Foreigner in 1977.

The band has since gone on to release eight studio albums more out of which which their record, '4' debuted at the first spot on the US Billboard 200 and stayed there for ten impressive weeks. They have also put out thirteen compilation albums and sold more than fifty million records worldwide.
