Mud Island Amphitheater is located in the southwest corner of the U.S. state of Tennessee in the city of Memphis which is the youngest of Tennessee's four major cities.
This city is the home of founders and establishers of various American music genres, including Blues, Gospel, Rock n' Roll, Buck, Crunk, and "sharecropper" country music.
It has been the place where legends like Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and B. B. King all got their starts in the decade of 1950s. Mud Island was opened to public in 1982 with the Mississippi River Park, Mississippi River Museum and Mud Island Amphitheater as the major entertainment and recreational attractions.
This land is a small peninsula surrounded by the Mississippi River to the west while the Wolf River was diverted so that it can run on the north side of Mud Island.
If one desire to attend an event in Mud Island Amphitheater it can be easily accessible by a monorail or a ferry, there is a bridge located on the top of the monorail and one can walk to reach the destination by foot or one can easily drive in an automobile.
The exact location of Mud Island Amphitheater is 125 North Front Street, Memphis. Reaching the amphitheater is easy if one is driving while taking a front street exit from I-40 West or East and reaching south on Front Street for one block.
Parking is available at the Mud Island Parking Garage adjacent to the East Plaza Entrance while the entrance to the garage is at the corner of Front Street. The parking fee ranges from $3 to $10, depending on the event.
The seating capacity of Mud Island Amphitheater is for about 5,000 occupants who enjoy the acts seating at the bank of the Island. The stage is set near the Mississippi River and the performers enjoy the open air venue under the dazzling stars and the dancing water of the river alluring the performances by bringing in the electrifying effects.
The audiences on the other hand not only enjoy the concerts or acts but also surrender themselves to the beautiful ambience of heavenly stars overhead, the night time breezes wafting off the river, and the sparkling downtown Memphis skyline in the background.
This outdoor amphitheater facility is usually used for summer concert series bringing in the scenic extravaganza for over two decades.
The acts and performances that have been played in this amphitheater over the years includes artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Sting, James Taylor, Midnight Oil, Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe, Jimmy Buffett, Journey, Jethro Tull, Styx, Phish, Sex Pistols, Billy Idol, INXS, Better than Ezra, Hootie and the Blowfish, Cowboy Mouth, Violent Femmes, Kelly Clarkson, and Britney Spears.
And the year 2007 the season was rocked by the performances of Styx, Foreigner, Korn, Chevelle, Drowning Pool, Puddle of Mudd, Saving Abel, Black Crowes, Buffalo Killers, Smashing Pumpkins, Explosion in the Sky Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes.

There are no cameras, binoculars, laser devices or recording devices of any kind permitted inside the venue. And once the patron has exited the facility, there is no re-entry.
