Located in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, The Metrodome was opened on April 3, 1982 after the construction cost of $68 Million, with the capacity of holding 55,883 fans during baseball games, 64,111 on football games and 50,000 during basketball games.

Metrodome was designed mainly for the Minnesota"s football team the Minnesota Vikings and ever since it"s opening it has been a permanent home for the Minnesota Vikings.

Presently Metrodome is also home to the NCAA"s Minnesota Golden Gophers baseball team, which became its tenant in 1985.

In addition to that Metrodome was also a former home ground for NBA"s Minnesota Timberwolves, NASL"s Minnesota Strikers, and NCAA"s Minnesota Golden Gophers Football team.

Apart from the regular season games, Metrodome has also hosted Super Bowl XXVI in 1992, NCAA Men"s Division I Basketball Tournament in 1992 and 2001, Minnesota Youth in Music Marching Band Competition.

Hmong New Year gatherings and the Oromo Jilboo American Games, Monster truck, motocross, Live Concerts, 2008 Victory Bowl, the NCCAA National Football Championships, Monster Jam and Prep Bowl.
