Hughes Stadium
The off-campus football stadium serving Colorado State University, Hughes Stadium, is a stadium primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Colorado State University Rams.

It is one of the most scenic settings to be found anywhere. The stadium replaced the 12,000 seat old Colorado Field on-campus stadium.
The Hughes Stadium sits in a natural oval bowl, with seating on three sides and an open grass berm behind the south endzone. The west, home side, stands are expanded out of the bowl and capped by a press box. Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, the stadium holds 34,000 people.
Mostly the people who come here are university students and die-hard fans, so the atmosphere of the stadium is usually charged with energy and rivalry.
The stadium is named for Harry W. Hughes, who was the head coach for 31 seasons, from 1911-41, when the stadium was called the Colorado Agricultural. Later, in the year 2003, the field itself was renamed in honor of the previous head coach Sonny Lubick, who replaced Earle Bruce in 1993 and coached through the 2007 season.
The first game at Hughes Stadium was played on September 28th, 1968, which was a 17-12 loss to North Texas. Then from October 21st, 1989 to August 21st, 1991, the Rams won eight consecutive games at the stadium, a school record.
Other than being home to sporting events, the stadium has also hosted some artists from the show business, such as, Bob Dylan, when he recorded the NBC television special and live concert album Hard Rain at Hughes Stadium during a May 1976 rainstorm.
The Hughes Stadium underwent a renovation in 2000, when permanent lighting standards were installed. Four years later, 4,400 additional seats were constructed in the north end zone, the stadium's press box and Rams Horn levels were renovated, and 12 new luxury boxes were constructed.
Finally, the installation of a Field Turf playing surface prior to the 2006 season completed renovations. Improvements include a complete fire sprinkler and alarm system; fiber-optic and wireless connections for spectators, the press and coaches; and a broadcast cabling system for television and replay.
Other finish items include pecan cabinets and woodwork with solid surface countertops; a sound and video system throughout the club level, including 72 new television monitors; and new furniture for the suites, lounges and press areas.
