Canon Theatre ON Tickets

In these times when so many entertainment forms have evolved, motion pictures still continue to take our breath away. Starting in 1920, the Canon Theatre started its operations as a motion picture house and a combination vaudeville. Thomas W. Lamb designed the theatre and it was acclaimed as the largest cinema in Canada besides being the most graceful.

The theatre was constructed by the founder of Famous Players Canadian Corporation. The Corporation acquired the ownership while the booking and management were attained by the Pantages organization. It was only in 2001, that the theater was forwarded some support from Canon Canada, Inc. Owing to this support, the theatre was renamed the Canon Theatre. Then in 2008, Live Nation, Inc.'s North American assets were acquired by Key Brand Entertainment, Inc. Further on, the Canon Theatre and another theatre nearby were purchased by Mirvish Productions after a successful bidding.
