Details of Bob Seger and the Ticket Luck value
Very few musicians are actually identified with their place of origin to such an extent that, in their lifetime, they become the voice of the city and its most recognizable superstar. Especially where an industry as extensive as the music industry is concerned and a city as diverse as Detroit is concerned, this honor is unprecedented. Bob Seger has, however, transcended all expectations to become the undisputed king of the Detroit scene. True to roots, Rock & Roll is rare in this day & age, yet its timelessness still appeals as a throwback to the long-haired wild-eyed days of the 60s & 70s. Even though Seger did not have the smoothest ride to the top, it was his constant & infallible dominance of Detroit’s musical scene that eventually translated to nationwide recognition in the late 70s. Since his commercial breakthrough, the Dearborn-based heartland rock artist has captivated millions with legendary hits like 'Old Times Rock & Roll' & 'Night Moves'. Fans are queuing up for Bob Seger tickets as the maestro plans on kicking off the 2011 Tour in style.
Robert Clarke Seger was born in 1945 in Dearborn, Michigan, before his family moved to Ann Arbor when he was young. Coping with the abandonment of his father, Seger went to Lincoln High School & drew his musical inspiration from the likes of Little Richard, Elvis Presley & James Brown. Seger’s musical style is raw & emotive, pertaining to relevant subjects that affect the blue-collar lifestyle. Seger kicked off his musical career with 'The Lonely One' as part of Detroit-based act The Decibels in 1961. It received moderate radio airplay, an achievement for the budding vocalist/guitarist. He worked in the Town Criers & later as vocalist/keyboardist for Doug Brown & the Omens, where he covered mostly R&B songs. He struck up a partnership with future manager Edward 'Punch' Andrews & did a song East Side Story which became his first regional hit. Old members of the Omens & Town Criers got together to form the 'Last Heard, & 'Heavy Music' was the outcome, but suffered from the records company closing down. Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man (1969) was the next notable offering from his subsequent band, The Bob Seger System. Eventually, it disbanded with the interference of songwriter Tom Neme. 1974 saw the formation of Silver Bullet Band with Drew Abbott, Charlie Allen, Alto Reed, Rick Mannassa & Chris Campbell. It churned out a few albums including the live masterpiece Live Bullet which kick-started Seger’s career. The commercial breakthrough was complete with Night Moves, & Seger then embarked on a two decade dominance that saw seven consecutive Top Ten platinum-selling albums come out. After 1995s It’s a Mystery, he took an 11-year hiatus. His return, with 2006 Face the Promise, was very well-received. Seger’s future plans include a new album, & a tour that starts this March & would be continued in the fall.
1969s Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man reached #17 on the Pop Singles charts, becoming Seger’s first hit outside the Detroit area. Beautiful Loser won accolades for the Silver Bullet Band, sealing the # 43 spot with the upbeat rock n roll song 'Katmandu'. Live Bullet reached 5xPlatinum certification, becoming one of the top 10 best-selling live albums with hits like 'Turn the Page' & 'Nutbush City Limits'. With six million sales, Night Moves affirmed this national hero’s status, with 'Night Moves' (#4) & 'Rock & Roll Never Forgets' doing the business. Stranger in Town reached #4 on the basis of 'Still the same' (#4) & 'Old Time Rock & Roll', which is currently the all-time second most played Jukebox Single. Against the Wind scooped up two Grammys, while The Distance gave him his biggest hit to date, 'Shame on the Moon' (#1). His Greatest Hits album sold ten million copies & he was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
Seger’s earnest music & thought-provoking visceral lyrics have enthralled millions. Fans with Bob Seger tickets have never complained of a dull moment in the showman’s concerts, & the trend is set to continue with the 2011 Tour. Seger is a consummate musician who has stuck to old-fashioned rock to reap rewards with his patience & dedication. Rock fans looking to relive the golden hits will leave no stone unturned in their efforts to land their own Bob Seger tickets.
