Details of The Black Lips and the Ticket Luck value
Black Lips is a rock band belonging to Atlanta, Georgia. In 2000, the band members got together when they were still in their teens. Jared Swilley, the band’s bassist had just left Renegades and Ben Eberbaugh, the band’s guitarist had just left Reruns. They were later joined by Robby Rebel, the vocalist and Joe Bradley the drummer, gradually completing the band. In 2002, through Die Slaughterhouse, their personal label record, they released Ain’t Coming Back”7. The track was followed by the release of another single by the name of Freakout. By that time, their guitarist Robby Rebel had left. The band is currently performing at a number of different venues, to attend a live event, buy your Black Lips tickets today!
Cole Alexander, Jared Swilley’s friend and classmate replaced Rebel soon after his departure. Known for their crude tricks during school days, Swilley and Alexander decided to arrange a number of live shows that will include bizarre acts along with music, which they chose to call the “out of control” live acts. These acts got them banned in a number of venues in Georgia. However, they managed to grab the attention of Greg Shaw at Bomp! Records, who offered them a recording deal, which they accepted.
Before Black Lips could release their debut self titled album, tragedy struck and their guitarist Eberbaugh died in an automobile accident. According to the police reports, he was hit by a car coming from the wrong way, driven by a woman who was probably drunk. The head to head collision in front of the toll booth killed both Ben and the driver in the other car right at the spot. Cole later told in an interview that Ben had an amp in the back of his car which was wrecked in the accident. However, his father had it repaired and returned to the band. Weirdly, the amp had its reverb turned up way and was stuck. He also mentioned that they will like to use the amp during the compilation of their next album.
Although struck by grief, the band decided to embark on their planned Midwest and East coast tour, because they thought Ben wouldn’t have wanted them to stop just when they were so near the beginning. In 2003, they released their debut album. The new guitarist Ian Saint Pe joined the band the same year, and they embarked on yet another tour to support the album. Gradually, the band started to gain national level fame after their mention in Rolling Stone and Spin magazines. Their crazy live performances that included a number of obscene tricks containing acts like urinating, vomiting, kissing and nudity started gaining fame among the masses too.
In 2007, the general manager of VICE Magazine, Adam Shore came across the band when he was attending a show in a club called Magnetic Field in Brooklyn. He liked Black Lips a lot and offered them a contract with VICE Records. When they released their first track with the label Not A Problem, Rolling Stone magazine included them in the list of “ones to watch” performers. After a number of international tours, in 2009, the band released their fifth album titled “200 Million Thousand.” It was followed by eleven months of excessive touring, which included 122 live shows in the United States and Europe.
Apart from their music projects and events, they continue to perform live shows consisting of their famous “infamous” acts. Three of the Black Lips members, Swilley, Alexander and Bradley also occasionally perform as “Spooks” the ghost rock band, which they had formed in 2002 to play on various Halloween acts. If you want to attend one of their live events featuring music and their popular insane antics, you can now book your Black Lips tickets online.
