Details of Andy Montanez and the Ticket Luck value
The musical compositions of Puerto Rican vocalist Andy Montañez are greatly influenced by Spanish music. The high nasal tone and plaintive singing is what sets this salsa singer apart from other artists. Andy strives to expand the musical traditions which originally gained prominence in the hills of Puerto Rico among the Hispanic farmers. He is soon coming to perform in the heart of Brooklyn at the Barclays Center as part of the “Lo Mejor De Los 90's / The Best of the 90's Salsa Concert.” Get Andy Montañez tickets to watch him and other famous salsa artists live in concert.
Initially, Andy stepped into the limelight as a lead singer of the band called El Gran Combo. Andy performed as a member of the band for fifteen years. He gained international prominence with songs such as Vagabundo (Bum), Julia, Hojas blancas (White Leaves), Un verano en N.Y. (A Summer at NY), El Swing and El barbero loco (The Crazy Barber) amongst others. During his stay with the band, Andy produced thirty-seven LPs. The band is regarded as a "the most popular Salsa group that has ever existed.” Quite a lot of musicians developed their careers with the band which includes Andy Montañez as well. He was one of the members of the band who earned the moniker La Universidad de la Salsa for the group. He left the group to join another band, Dimensi'n Latina based in Venezuela. Three years down the road, Andy left the Venezuela based band to pursue career as a solo artist.
Andy enjoyed substantial success internationally by conducting tours with his own orchestra in the United States and Latin America. In 1992, he represented Puerto Rico at the World's Fair in Spain. In the past few years, Andy joined hands with Ismael Miranda, an associate salsa artist. Together they worked on recording some bohemian and boleros music.
In 2005-2006, Andy experimented with salsa and reggaeton which spawned salsaton, a blend of both the genres. Renowned rappers such as Julio Voltio and Daddy Yankee accompanied him in making salsaton. In 2006, Andy proudly received his first Latin Grammy Award for “Best Traditional Tropical Album.”
