Against Me!
Against Me! is a punk rock band formed in 1997 in Naples, Florida. The band which is now famous for its rock music has once used to be an unnoticed one.

The band was formed by Tom Gabel in 1996 when he was only 16. The current band members are Tom Gabel, Andrew Seward, James Bowman and Warren Oakes

Tom Grabel started as a solo act with vocals and acoustic guitar. However, he would at times perform only with backup from drummers or bassists. He put out one demo tape by himself that contained some very good numbers.

It was officially entitled Against Me!, but now more commonly known as Tom's First Demo. The songs were circulated on Internet but didn’t garner desired results.

Another demo cassette was released the following year on Misanthrope Records with only five hundred copies. It was released under the band title of Vivida Vis which was a slightly more complete band than a one man show.

Internet file-sharing popularized this album and songs like "Shit Stroll," which is still requested by the audience at all concerts of Against Me! A self-titled album was also released under Crasshole Records in 2000. But only 150 copies of the album were ever officially released as there were some mastering errors.

The year 2002 saw a milestone in the history of Against Me!, when their first full-length album was released on No Idea Records in 2002. Titled as Reinventing Axl Rose, the album had a trademark style of the band.

Against Me touched great heights and started a wonderful journey to fame and success. They have released music on Misanthrope Records, Crasshole Records, Plan It X Records, Sabot Productions, No Idea Records, and Fat Wreck Chords.

The first live album of the band was titled Americans Abroad!!! Against Me!!! Live in London!!! - on August 22, 2006. The album was recorded at the Mean Fiddler in London, England. It featured the previously unreleased song named "Americans Abroad".

Their July 2007 album was signed with Sire Records and it hits the bull-eye right at the beginning. One of the band members, Ben Lee released his own tribute cover of the whole album on his website, and performed selections from it on his late 2007 tour of the United States.

The year 2008 has proved a fruitful and year for Against Me! as they were listed as "Best Punk Band" by Rolling Stone in May 2008. They are now not only popular in the youth but their fanbase extends to all ages and all countries.

They have appeared in a couple of TV programs and have some live performances there as well. Now unlike the beginning, their albums and tickets sell like hot-cakes an it is quite hard to find tickets for their concerts.

The band is now touring different parts of the world including the hot destinations like Canada and United States in October. Tom Gabel will have a brief solo tour as well with Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music, Ben Nichols of Lucero, and Tim Barry of Avail in some time. Catch them in latest concert and have a fun!
