Active in the music scene since 40 years, Rush has sold over 40 million records across the world. The band was created in 1968 in Toronto and the original lineup included John Rutsey on drums, Alex Lifeson on guitar and Jeff Jones on bass. Jones was however replaced by Geddy Lee and Rutsey was replaced by Neil Peart - this lineup has stayed constant till date. The group released their first single Not Fade Away in 1973. In 1974 the band released their self-titled debut album and gained a lot of popularity. The next year Rush released two additional albums, “Fly by Night” and “Caress of Steel”. Rush saw its biggest success with the release of the album, “2112”. Featuring a 20-minute title song, it gained platinum status in Canada and the band hit the road touring across Canada and the US. Since then, the band has released several chart topping albums and singles.

These days the band has got the fans buzzing with the release of the “R40” box set. Released in November, the set is a celebration of the band’s 40th anniversary since the release of their debut album. It includes five former live video albums and many unreleased footages from their career. The Universal Music Enterprises has also kicked off a celebration of the group’s anniversary and will be rereleasing their old albums in the Mercury Catalog in 2015. Rush is now ready to perform in Houston.
