The Celtic Woman is an Irish music band consisting of all female members that was envisaged and brought together in 2004 by David Downe and Sharon Browne.  Mostly its music is based on folk Celtic music from the Western Europe but also extends to modern genres like new age and contemporary music.

The music for the band is composed by David Downe who formerly was the music director of the famous Irish theater show “Riverdance”. He has been conducting music for this show for theater companies from around the world including Broadway, the European touring company and US touring company. In addition he has also done some heavy composing work for film and television.
