Discovering Fame

Kt Tunstall began to take interest in music during her childhood years and learned the piano at the age of four. She then started to learn other instruments before discovering her singing voice. Tunstall then began to jam with different indie music bands before focusing on her own solo journey which soon led to her signing a record deal with Relentless Records.

In 2004, Kt Tunstall hit the Nam Studios to work on her first studio project and on December 13^th of the same year, 'Eye to the Telescope' was released. This record helped her achieve breakthrough success and brought her immense mainstream popularity. The album charted in every major country including the United Kingdom and the United States, peaking at the 3^rd and 33^rd spot respectively. In addition it was certified quintuple platinum by the BPI. It featured the single Black Horse and the Cherry Tree which not only got her a Grammy nomination for, 'Best Female Pop Vocal Performance' but also appeared in video games such as 'Dancing With the Stars: We Dance!' and 'Band Hero.'      

Not Slowing Down Her Pace

Following the humongous success of 'Eye to the Telescope,' Kt Tunstall didn't slow down her pace and dropped her sophomore studio effort, 'Drastic Fantastic.' The album exceeded the expectations of the fans and recorded gold certification in the United Kingdom. It also landed at the third and ninth spot on the UK Albums and Billboard 200 respectively. In addition, the effort was approved by publications like, AllMusic, The Observer and Rolling Stone.

Tunstall then issued her next studio album, 'Tiger Suit' in 2010. It became her second effort to receive gold plaque from the BPI and was charted at the fifth spot on the UK Albums chart. This effort was also praised by the critics with AllMusic calling it as, "an excellent album that satisfies as pure sound and as songwriting sustenance." The album also contained songs, Glamour Puss and Come On, Get In both of which featured on the promo of TV series, 'Desperate Housewives.'

Ruling the Decade

Kt Tunstall went on to dominate the 2010s by releasing three more studio albums, 'Invisible Empire // Crescent Moon,' 'KIN' and 'WAX.' The last record from the list hit the markets in 2018 and gathered positive reviews from AllMusic and Exclaim!
