So how has this album done? In one word, marvelous. It has already been certified gold in Italy and soon to become platinum record. In the United States the album was released by Geffen Records in 2011 and has done extremely well commercially. It sold well over 20,000 copies in its very first week of release, debuting at position no. 10 on the Billboard 200. On the Classical Albums chart, it reached the very top. Il Volo has not only topped the charts in the U.S., but in other countries as well like Austria, Netherlands, France, and Belgium.

IL Volo's debut album was produced by famous Italian singer and producer, Tony Renis and Humberto Gatica. It was recorded in the most famous studio in London, Abbey Road Studios. The album has three versions; Italian, Spanish and International. The international version contains singles like, This Time, Painfully Beautiful, Notte Stellata (The Swan), E La Mia Vita, La Luna Hizo Esto, Per Te, Smile, El Reloj, Un Amore Cosi Grande, O Sole Mio, E piu ti penso and Il Mondo.
