Ben Kweller
Ben Kweller is an American rock musician. He was raised in a Jewish family in Greenville, Texas, and was exposed to music at a very young age. His father taught him how to play the drums when he was 7 years old.

With Howard singing and playing guitar and Ben keeping the beat, the duo would play songs by The Beatles, The Hollies, Jimi Hendrix, and other artists. When Ben turned 8, someone taught him how to play ?Heart And Soul? on the piano.

In 1993 Kweller became friends with another young local musician, drummer John Kent. The two formed the band called Radish with bassist Ryan Green. The trio played locally in and around Greenville and recorded two independent releases: Hello in 1994 and Dizzy in 1995.

Around the time of Dizzy?s release, Ryan Green decided to leave the band. Lorin Hamilton filled the void for a few months until Bryan Bradford AKA Bryan Blur joined on.

Guitarist Nils Lofgren was impressed with Radish and recommended them to Roger Greenawalt. Greenawalt took Radish into a studio where they recorded a demo tape which was subsequently shopped around to record labels nationwide.

Ben Kweller, at the age of 15, and Radish were signed to Mercury Records. Regardless of a much-hyped beginning, which included appearances on The Weird Al Show, Late Night with Conan O?Brien and Late Show with David Letterman, the band failed to strike big success.

In 1998 Radish became a quartet featuring Joe Butcher on lead guitar and Debbie Williams on bass. The group went to Muscle Shoals Studio in Alabama to record the follow-up to Restraining Bolt. While mixing Discount Fireworks in NYC, Kweller and Kent met bassist Josh Lattanzi.

Lattanzi became Radish?s 5th and final bass player. As a result of Polygram?s merger with Universal Music Group, the 18-song album was never released. However, Radish soon secured a release from their contract with Mercury Records.

Ben Kweller relocated to New York at the age of 19 and began his solo career. He played acoustic shows and self-released four EPs, comprising some of the unreleased Radish Discount Fireworks recordings. EPs like Freak Out and It?s Ben Kweller caught the attention of Evan Dando of The Lemonheads.

Dando invited Kweller out on tour with him where he played across America and Europe. In 2003, Ben Kweller toured Australia with Ben Folds and Ben Lee as The Bens. The trio produced an eponymous four-song EP.

Ben Kweller provided lead vocals on the song ?I Hope Tomorrow is Like Today? from Guster?s album Keep It Together later that year. The song was prominently featured in the movie called The Wedding Crashers.

In the Spring of 2007, he co-headlined with his label-mates Gomez and continued through the summer with his own string of headlining dates. His tour eventually ended at ACL fest.

Immediately following his performance at ACL, Kweller started recording his fourth full-length LP, entitled Changing Horses in Austin, Texas.

Changing Horses features the trio on the train track, Philadelphia underground folk star Campbell Davis, and Pedal Steel/Dobro player Kitt Kitterman.

The following year, Kweller re-signed with ATO Records who are releasing his upcoming Changing Horses in late January 2009.
