Exotic set designs and magnificent lightening effects make the opera even more enchanting. Apart from Snow Maiden, Rimsky-Korsakov is known for his orchestral compositions named Russian Easter Festival and Capriccio Espagnol.

He was famous for bringing to stage the operas that had more of a touch of fantasy than reality. His adopted work also had a touch of folk lore. He tried to develop more of classical music that had a hint of nationalism. Along with The Five, which included Mily Balakirev, Alexander Borodin, Modest Mussorgsky, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and César Cui, he created a number of never to be forgotten operas.
