Pride and Prejudice is a musical by Bernard J Taylor with script by Josie Brown and music and lyrics by Rita Abram. Having outstanding profiles, together they make the creative team that brought this incredible story on stage. Built up on the universally acknowledged fact that 'a single man possessing a good fortune must be in want of a wife', the story is a drama of manners, spiced up with comedy. The show begins by introducing the Bennet family. Mr. and Mrs. Bennet along with their three marriageable daughters reside in country outside the skirts of London. Among all the issues, the major concern to Mrs. Bennet is that if her husband predeceased her, she will be ejected from her home as per the law of the era according to which property could only be inherited by males. So in order to keep her future safe, she wishes to get her daughters married to influential people, preferably Collins who happens to be the legal heir of the Bennet wealth by being their cousin in relation.
 
The Bennet daughters are Jane, Elizabeth and Lydia. Jane is interested in a wealthy man in their neighborhood, Mr. Bingley; Elizabeth, the sharp eyed and witted one wants to marry Mr. Bingley's friend, Darcy who is wealthy, arrogant and aristocratic and Lydia is in a relationship with Wickham, a well to do army officer. The drama begins when Darcy disapproves of the obvious infatuation of Bingley with Jane due to the undesirable behavior of the Bennet family. In order to save his friend from getting into any commitment for good, he arranges for him to flee the country and move to London. Deeply affected by it, Jane enters into a major phase of depression. Mrs. Bennet in order to help her daughter plans a visit to London at her aunt and uncle's place (Collin's family).
 
As the tale moves further, the events get more complicated. The audiences are exposed to the Collins character, being an opportunistic and a sycophantic clergyman. He works for Lady Catherine De Bourgh, who is Darcy's aunt. Knowing that he has three Bennet daughters as options to get married, he proposes Elizabeth, who rejects it. This event gives birth to jealousy, revenge and hatred that spice up the story with a number of situations that do not only keep the audiences to the edge of their seats but also make them sentimental.
