Warren Haynes
Warren Haynes, one of the hardest working performers in the world of music today, has worked with many artists over the years, along with working as a solo artist.
Being ranked as the twenty-third best guitarist of all times, by Rolling Stones, Warren Haynes has created sensational music. Currently he is a member of bands including Gov't Mule, Allman Brothers Band, and The Dead.
Born on the 6th of April, 1960, Warren Haynes is an American rock and blues guitarist, along with being a vocalist and a songwriter of the band Gov't Mule.
He has also been collaborated with the Allman Brothers Band for quite a long time now. Other than recording and touring widely with former members of the band Grateful Dead, Haynes has also maintained his career as a solo artist.
By teaming up with David Allan Coes touring and recording band, Warren Haynes got his pioneer break. He travelled around the world and performed in different places with the band for a few years.
After some time, Haynes and Mickey Hayes, who was the Bass Guitarist of David Allan Coe, left the band and moved to Nashville, where they formed their own band, known as the Rich Hippies.
Their band comprised Mickey Hayes on Bass guitar, Tommy Irwin on steel guitar, Dennis Robbins on slide guitar, Mark Deaver on drums and Warren Haynes himself was on the lead guitar and the lead vocals; whereas, Mickey Hayes and Dennis Robbins also provided the backing vocals.
The band remained active for only a year, in which it performed at various clubs and other venues surrounding the Nashville region. After the Rich Hippies, Warren Haynes continued playing with the local musicians along with doing a fusion of both guitar and vocal studio work.
One of his prominent achievements while doing the studio work includes the song, Two of a Kind, Workin on a Full House, which he co-wrote with Dennis Robbins and Bobby Boyd for the renowned country-rock musician Garth Brooks.
The song achieved huge success and secured the number one position for twenty weeks. At this time, a show for local composers to gather together and play once on yearly basis at Christmas for charity purpose in Asheville, NC, known as The Christmas Jam, Musician's X-Mas Reunion, was started by Haynes. This event is even held today at the venue - Asheville Civic Center, and features the artists he has worked with till date.
In 1987, Haynes got a call from Dickey Betts, asking him to join in as back-up vocals for a studio album. Dickey Betts had also asked Dennis Robbins to come along Haynes. Thus, the album Pattern Disruptive was released. The Allman Brothers Band re-united in 1989, and Warren joined it.
Since then, Haynes has played on many albums altogether, among which was also the gold certified Where It All Begins. Later, becoming a full-time member, Warren Hynes got back with the band.
Then in 1994, Haynes shaped Gov't Mule in accordance with Matt Abts, who was a member of Dickey Betts and Allen Woody, who was Allman Brothers bassist.
However, Woody passed away in 2000, and Gov't Mule released two studio albums, along with one live-album, entitled The Deepest End.
