The Pandanus Club is a band from Hawaii, known for its sensational blend of world music, featuring sounds and styles that echo the culture of Hawaiian Islands. The Pandanus Club has released several albums and songs over the years and has also contributed to a number of compilation albums. They have won many recognitions, including Na Hoku Hanohano Award in the "Anthology of the Year" category, which they took away for one of their albums released through Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts. The band's original members are Chris Keliiaa, Glenn smith of Ho' okena fame, Roddy Lopez and Kenneth Makuakane. Other artists have also been part of the band in the past, including Alden Levi, Jeff Rasmussen and Gary Haleamau.
The Pandanus Club first entered the music industry when one of their songs was included in 1991's "The Best of Paradise Vol. 3". Two years later, they appeared in the fourth edition in the series. In 1995, the band released several albums, including E Maka'ala, E Hula Mai, Hookupa, Ho'ike, Mokulua, Tetama and a Collection Series album. In 1996, they came out with two more albums; Ka Manawa 'Elua and E Himeni Hou. 1997 saw them releasing the album "Reunion", as well as performing on the Island Radio Hits compilation album. After that, the band took a break of three years from the recording studios, and then emerged again with their album titled "Lifesong".
In 2001, The Pandanus Club released an album titled "Ua Mau Millenium Series", as well as performed on the "Pure Hawaiian" album. Several more of their songs were featured in 2003's Hawaii's Favorite Christmas Songs album and 2002's Wa'ahila album. The band has released many more albums since then, including 2003's Mana'opa'a and 2004's Te Tama. Their music has also been featured in the Pineapple Hits album as well as The Best of Paradise: Ultimate Collection Vol. 1.
