Hailing from Deep South, Jimmy Buffett got a degree in journalism and for some time worked as a reporter at Billboard. Passionate about country music, he moved to Nashville and started a long and successful journey in music. He made his debut with the album "Down to Earth" and in 1971 released his second one titled "High Cumberland Jubilee". Following a failed marriage, Buffett left Nashville and headed to Key West. After a few adventurous endeavors he signed with ABC-Dunhill and treated the fans to "A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean". Although Jimmy Buffett spawned few hits here and there, his career's breakthrough came in 1977 with "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" that featured the song Margaritaville. His credentials today include 27 albums, 67 singles and 4 number one songs.

Jimmy Buffett spent the 80s and 90 touring extensively with his Coral Reefer Band. Even today the band performs frequently and "Parrotheads" - Buffett's devoted fans - attend the concerts in abundance. The Coral Reefer Band has Mac McAnally, Peter Mayer, Jim Mayer, Nadirah Shakoor and Tina Gullickson as the vocalists. Michael Utley is on keyboards, Ralph MacDonald as the percussionist, Robert Greenidge on percussion and steel drums, Roger Guth as the drummer, John Lovell plays the trumpet and Doyle Grisham rocking the pedal steel guitar.
