Those who know a thing or two about Spanish music must know about the famous Spanish Band La 5a Estacion. Their name is often spelled as La Quinta Estacion meaning The 5th Season.
The talented trio of Natalia Jimenez, ?ngel Reyero and Pablo Dom?nguez runs this band and they perform in several sell-out concerts every year.
La 5a Estacion is a band that has gained international exposure because of their quality presentations in the field of music. They have started their wonderful musical journey in Madrid with six members but later made Mexico their base with three members willingly relocated there.
Natalia took on as lead singer and harmonica, Reyero played the guitars and on both Pablo guitar and bass. They first created music and played in local venues followed by their debut album.
The first album of La Quinta Estacion Primera toma announced the coming of this wonderful in the world of music. The band garnered ample response from their first outing while the hit single Donde Iran was chosen appeared in the soundtrack for the youth soap opera Clase 406 as a theme song. Since this album was released solely in Mexico, La 5a Estacion toured extensively there to promote this album.
A good start earned La Quinta Estacion a performance in a tribute album to Hombres G and the soundtrack of Mexican film Dame tu cuerpo. The band decided to make Mexico their base and started working on their next album. The album, Flores de Alquiler, came out in 2004 featuring eleven self-written songs each a treat in itself.
With their second album, La Quinta Estacion went international and what a response they got there. The album went Double Platinum not only in Mexico but United States as well and everyone loved the music and poetic level of this band.
La 5a Estacion won the Best Latin Pop Airplay, New Generation, ASCAP United Statess Best Rock Song award and the Orgullosamente Latino, Peoples Choice 2005 and was declared the Best Latin Group of the year.
Soon after the second release, La 5a Estacion recorded their first live acoustic album Ac?stico, La Quinta Estaci?n with live versions of their previous hits. Again, it reached Platinum in Mexico and United States with over 200,000 sales strengthening their position even further.
Another treat from La 5a Estacion came in 2006 in the form of El Mundo se Equivoca that later earned them the prestigious Latin Grammy for Best Pop Album by a Group or Duo. This finally made the band one of the most happening acts from Mexico to ever receive such great success.
The success factor of La 5a Estacion can be examined best by attending their live concerts. Be it their more than sixty summer concerts in 2006 and 2007 or their smash hit 2008 tour El Mundo Se Equivoca in which they performed over 30 sold out shows all over Spain. Even an earlier concert in 2005 at Metropolitan Theater in Mexico City pointed at their growing fan base.
A true international band to say the least, La 5a Estacion has rocked the audiences from Latin America, the United States and Spain with their power-packed performances.
