Since last two decades, Joe Satriani has been travelling around the world, giving sold-out performances both, as a headliner and as part of other guitar extravaganzas such as Chickenfoot and G3. If you are a Satriani fan or have a thing for guitars, get your seats booked now to watch this virtuoso guitarist live as he strums the strings of your heart.

Born in 1956, Joe Satriani spent the first 22 years of his life at Westbury. A huge fan of the guitarist Jimi Hendrix, Satriani initially wanted to become a football player, but after hearing the news of his death he decided to become a guitarist. After studying music from artists such as Billy Bauer and Lennie Tristano, Satriani started teaching guitar. At the time his most notable student was Steve Vai. Besides teaching, Joe was also studying music at the Five Towns College. In 1978, he moved to California to fulfill his dream and make a career in music. He was just 22 years olds then. There Satriani resumed his teaching profession and gave guitar lessons to people who later became some of the world's finest guitarists. These include David Bryson of Counting Crows, Kirk Hammett of Metallica, Larry LaLonde of Primus, Kevin Cadogan of Third Eye Blind, Alex Skolnick of Testament, Charlie Hunter and David Turin.

In California he started playing with Squares, a band based in San Francisco.  Sometime later, in the early 80s, Satriani was invited by Greg Kihn to work with his band, which he accepted.  In 1984, Satriani released his first solo self-titled EP, financed by Satriani himself. Around the same time Vai, his student who was playing in collaboration with David Lee Roth, had his first hit as a guitarist. While giving an interview to major magazines such as Guitar World, Vai offered praise for his former teacher. It was the effect of these comments that Satriani's "Not of This Earth," his first full-length album, automatically made its way to fame and earned mainstream success.

In 1987, Satriani released his second album titled "Surfing with the Alien." Many of the singles from this album were huge hits on radio, making it the first instrumental album to reach the top of the charts in quite a while.. The single "Crushing Day" from the album was featured in "It Takes two," a low-budget film. Satriani also helped "Possessed", a death metal band in producing their EP titled "The Eyes of Horror". Satriani's third album titled "Flying in a Blue Moon" came out in 1989. A number of songs from this album were featured in movies and commercials; "One Big Rush" in "Say Anything" by Cameron Crowe, "The Forgotten Part II" in the Labatt Blue commercial and "Can't Slow Down" in Nash Bridges starring Don Johnson.

Satriani's fourth album, "The Extremist" hit the stores in 1992. The album was a huge commercial breakthrough and became Satriani's most successful album. The single "Summer Song" was a major radio hit and was used by Sony for the commercial campaign of its Discman CD players. The title track along with two other singles, "Friends" and "Crying" were also the regional hits.. During the Japanese tour of Deep Purple in 1993, he joined the band as a replacement for Ritchie Blackmore. Since the tour was a major success, he was offered to permanently become a band member. But because Satriani had already signed a deal with Sony, he declined the offer and the position was taken up by Steve Morse.

In the next seventeen years, Satriani released ten more albums and was nominated for a total of fifteen Grammy Awards. He is also the founder of G3, a touring extravaganza which has been active since 1995. Being one of the most accomplished rock guitarists of the world, Satriani has got legions of fans from across the world. You can watch Satriani live in a concert by getting Joe Satriani tickets for his upcoming performances in your city.
