20th century's iconic musicians, Sinatra and Fitzgerald have been the most influential members of the Great American Songbook. More of a term that an actual book, the Great American Songbook features masterpieces that were composed during the 1920 to 1960 period. Fitzgerald is considered one of the best interpreters of the Book as the albums that she composed on those hits became the bestsellers. Through her brilliant arrangements, she celebrated the music of greats like Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, Rodgers & Hart, Harold Arlen, the Gershwins and Mercer.
Frank Sinatra remains a singular sensation and definitely a voice of the 20th century. His exploration of the Book made him stand out as many other singers performed the same songs, but what Sinatra did to them, make him one of a kind.
In an attempt to bring the duo's unmatched chemistry to the newer generation, jazz singers Capathia Jenkins and Tony DeSare have teamed up for the "A New Year's Eve Tribute To Frank and Ella".
