Experience big city life and its attractions in a small city called Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough is a town in the Tees Valley, situated on the south bank of the River Tees which is a few miles from the edge of the North York Moors National Park.

Middlesbrough is the biggest and most populous settlement within the borough of Middlesbrough. It, being historically town of the North Riding of Yorkshire, became the centre of the county borough of Teesside in 1968.

The city was incorporated into the non-metropolitan county of Cleveland in 1974. Later on in 1996 Cleveland was torn down and the Middlesbrough borough turned out to be a unitary authority, within the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire.
