It features world famous pianist, Yefim Bronfman, who has twice before played this concert, with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. This time around, Bronfman is back again, playing masterfully the iconic piano concertos of Ludwig van Beethoven. Indeed, there is no other pianist fitting for this performance as Bronfman has been dubbed a poet and a powerhouse in music. He can be seen live in concert, playing Beethoven, with Yefim Bronfman Plays Beethoven concert tickets in hand.

Yefim Bronfman rose to fame in 1975 when he played the piano with Zubin Mehta, who conducted a Montreal-based orchestra. In 1989, Bronfman again made headlines when he performed at New York City's iconic Carnegie Hall. In 1991, he was back at the Hall, this time performing a recital series with the renowned Isaac Stern. In 1997, he made a recording of Bartok's piano concertos with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. This recording won him a Grammy Award. Since then, Bronfman has been playing a wide range of music; from piano concertos to chamber ensembles and instrumental pieces.

At the Yefim Bronfman Plays Beethoven concert, Bronfman will perform piano concertos by the famous Ludwig van Beethoven. The German composer and pianist is one of the greatest composers in the history of music.

Beethoven was born in Bonn and showed an aptitude for music at a young age. He was taught by his father and the likes of Christian Gottlob Neefe. He then went on to study with Joseph Haydn, though he had originally intended to study with Mozart. He lived in Vienna during the last period of his time.

By the last decade of his storied life, he was nearly deaf, stopping live conducting and performing. He, however, continued composing and some of his best known works are from this period. He composed five concertos for piano, amongst his numerous works are nine symphonies, thirty two piano sonatas and sixteen string quartets.

Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 was the first of his piano concertos to be published. It was, however, his third attempt at composing a piano concerto. The first such attempt was an unpublished E-flat major piano concerto with the second attempt resulting in his Piano Concerto No. 2, which was published ten years after. Concerto No. 1 was written in between 1796 and 1797, dedicated to the Countess Anna Louise Barbara Keglevics, his pupil. It was first performed in 1798 at Prague, with Ludwig van Beethoven playing the piano.

.

Piano Concerto No. 1 reflected Beethoven's attempt at assimilating the styles of Haydn and Mozart, while at the same time showing his own style marked by the abrupt harmonic shifts. The concerto, a sonata form piece, was well received at the time and is now praised as one of his finest works. Beethoven was particularly influential and contributed to the foundation of the piano concerto genre during the late nineteenth century. His concertos were also markedly filled with pieces influenced by the music of Haydn and Mozart.

With his third piano concerto, Beethoven established a new relation between the piano and the orchestra. Amazingly, Beethoven wrote the piano concerto in E flat major at the age of fourteen, of which the piano composition remains. At the upcoming concert his renowned concerto pianos can be heard live, played by famous pianist, Yefim Bronfman, with Yefim Bronfman Plays Beethoven tickets.
