Twiztid
Formed in 1997, Twiztid is a hardcore hip hop/horrorcore rap group from Eastpointe, Michigan. Since their 1998 debut, the group has become the second most popular group on the Psychopathic Records label. They are also part of the Psychopathic supergroup Dark Lotus.

At present, Twiztid are enjoying a loyal following of Juggalos of their own. Prior to Twiztid, Madrox and Monoxide were members of the rap trio House of Krazees, using the names Mr. Bones and Hektic.

The band released five albums before disbanding in 1997. The duo then sent a demo tape to Joseph Bruce, which contained the tracks "2nd Hand Smoke," "Diemuthafuckadie," and "How Does It Feel?".

The duo"s 2nd Hand Smoke impressed Bruce who invited them on 'The House of Horrors Tour', and signed them to Psychopathic Records. Prior to embarking on a tour, the three men got together and decided on a name that perfectly fit the duo, "Twiztid". The band"s 1998 debut album, Mostasteless, was originally released independently by Psychopathic.

After releasing the album, Twiztid were signed to Island Records. Mostasteless was pulled, and re-released on Island Records the following year with somewhat different track listing including brand new songs. They left out tracks such as "Murder Murder Murder" and "She Ain't Afraid" because of uncleared samples.

Twiztid"s Mostasteless eventually became Gold. In 2000, the band came up with their new album called "Cryptic Collection". It was Twiztid's Version of Insane Clown Posse Forgotten Freshness featuring new, rare, and unreleased tracks. Twiztid issued their second album, Freek Show, on October 31,2000.

It became the group's breakthrough album, giving the group their first taste of chart success, and proving the group could do well on their own. The album was released on the same day Insane Clown Posse released their Bizaar/Bizzar albums. The hip hop rap group released the Mirror Mirror EP in 2002. Twiztid"s only studio EP received little promotion.

In the meantime, Twiztid released a second Cryptic Collection, featuring the Mostasteless tracks which weren"t included on the Island re-release. In 2003, the group came up with Green Book. The members of the band changed their appearances for The Green Book, featuring Jamie Madrox with bright green contacts and bright green hair, and Monoxide with virtually no makeup on whatsoever; neither wore any white face-paint.

After the released of this album, Twiztid changed their appearance to match their current album. The Green Book also featured Other Non-Psychopathic Records artist like E-40, Bushwick Bill and the start of many collaborations with Tech N9ne.

To support the release of Green Book, Twiztid toured the US with Wolfpac, doing two full legs of the Green Book tour, "Chapter 1" and "Chapter 2". The group also began releasing a series of half-hour episodes of The Purple Show on the internet. The episodes were done by Twiztid, Blaze, and Spyder and ran roughly 30 minutes in length.

Later, three original episodes, plus an unreleased fourth episode, were released on DVD. The series fifth episode appeared on Twiztid"s website in 2004, and a sixth, Halloween-themed, episode was released on the Mutant Vol. 2 bonus DVD. The features on each episode varied but included random stunts, jokes, and various skits.

With producer Tom Dub, Twiztid founded their own label, Majik Records. However, they quickly drifted back to Psychopathic after a Fall Through. In 2004, the group released their third Cryptic Collection album, which included a cover of Steve Miller's "The Joker".

In the last quarter of the year 2004, Monoxide issued his debut solo album, Chainsmoker LP. In the summer of following year, Twiztid released two albums: Man's Myth Vol. 1 and Mutant Vol. 2, released within a month of each other. The former one was a typical Twiztid album, while the latter contained more of a rock and roll sound.

Each album included a DVD; The Mutant DVD had the music video for "Story of Our Lives", behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the video, and a sixth episode of The Purple Show. The Man's Myth DVD had footage from Twiztid's live performance at The Gathering of the Juggalos 2004. It also contained commentary by Jamie and Paul about their discography.

Since 1995"s Sacrifice, Jamie Madrox released his first solo album, Phatso in 2006. A limited edition version of the album, Phatso: Earth 2 Version with alternate mixes and one new song was released a week after the original. Sometime in 2006 Twiztid released a single called "necks" exclusively for Faygoluvers.net.

Twiztid"s Independents Day came out on July 3, 2007. The album"s every track features an independent guest, the most notable being Tech N9ne, Potluck, Proof and Bizarre from D12, Hed PE, Tha Dogg Pound, DJ Quik, The Dayton Family, DJ Clay, Insane Clown Posse and Blaze Ya Dead Homie.

Bizarre and Proof's participation marked the first time Shady Records and Psychopathic artists appeared on record together. This was Proofs last song before he died. Also, Monoxide was the last person to talk to Proof. Independents Day peaked at number 57 on Billboard magazine's Billboard 200 chart.

Twiztid"s Independents Days reached as high as number 4 on Top Independent Albums and number 9 on Top Rap Albums. Twiztid announced their plan of nationwide "Toxic Terror Tour" was cancelled due to an accident on the set of the video shoot for "Raw Deal" (The Juggalo Song) in the the month of September 2007.

The tour resumed in Winter 2007 after Monoxide took time off to fully recover from his injury. Twiztid's "Toxic Terror Tour" EP was sold exclusively at tour stops around the country. After Toxic Terror Tour, Twiztid went straight into studio to work on their next planned project.

Monoxide stated in an interview that the new Twiztid album would be called W.I.C.K.E.D and it would focus on Twiztid and not have guest appearances. He also told that he will be releasing another solo album, possibly a sequel to Chainsmoker LP.

It was announced on the halloween 2008 edition of Weekly Freekly Weekly that W.I.C.K.E.D. is expected to be released on March 17, 2009.
