The Black Lips Tickets

Black Lips is a rock band belonging to Atlanta, Georgia. In 2000, the band members got together when they were still in their teens. Jared Swilley, the band's bassist had just left Renegades and Ben Eberbaugh, the band's guitarist had just left Reruns. They were later joined by Robby Rebel, the vocalist and Joe Bradley the drummer, gradually completing the band. In 2002, through Die Slaughterhouse, their personal label record, they released Ain't Coming Back"7. The track was followed by the release of another single by the name of Freakout. By that time, their guitarist Robby Rebel had left. The band is currently performing at a number of different venues, to attend a live event, buy your Black Lips tickets today!

Cole Alexander, Jared Swilley's friend and classmate replaced Rebel soon after his departure. Known for their crude tricks during school days, Swilley and Alexander decided to arrange a number of live shows that will include bizarre acts along with music, which they chose to call the "out of control" live acts. These acts got them banned in a number of venues in Georgia. However, they managed to grab the attention of Greg Shaw at Bomp! Records, who offered them a recording deal, which they accepted.

Before Black Lips could release their debut self titled album, tragedy struck and their guitarist Eberbaugh died in an automobile accident. According to the police reports, he was hit by a car coming from the wrong way, driven by a woman who was probably drunk. The head to head collision in front of the toll booth killed both Ben and the driver in the other car right at the spot. Cole later told in an interview that Ben had an amp in the back of his car which was wrecked in the accident. However, his father had it repaired and returned to the band. Weirdly, the amp had its reverb turned up way and was stuck. He also mentioned that they will like to use the amp during the compilation of their next album.

Although struck by grief, the band decided to embark on their planned Midwest and East coast tour, because they thought Ben wouldn't have wanted them to stop just when they were so near the beginning. In 2003, they released their debut album. The new guitarist Ian Saint Pe joined the band the same year, and they embarked on yet another tour to support the album. Gradually, the band started to gain national level fame after their mention in Rolling Stone and Spin magazines. Their crazy live performances that included a number of obscene tricks containing acts like urinating, vomiting, kissing and nudity started gaining fame among the masses too.

In 2007, the general manager of VICE Magazine, Adam Shore came across the band when he was attending a show in a club called Magnetic Field in Brooklyn. He liked Black Lips a lot and offered them a contract with VICE Records. When they released their first track with the label Not A Problem, Rolling Stone magazine included them in the list of "ones to watch" performers. After a number of international tours, in 2009, the band released their fifth album titled "200 Million Thousand." It was followed by eleven months of excessive touring, which included 122 live shows in the United States and Europe.

Apart from their music projects and events, they continue to perform live shows consisting of their famous "infamous" acts. Three of the Black Lips members, Swilley, Alexander and Bradley also occasionally perform as "Spooks" the ghost rock band, which they had formed in 2002 to play on various Halloween acts. If you want to attend one of their live events featuring music and their popular insane antics, you can now book your Black Lips tickets online.

Over the course of 9 years, the Black Lips has made its mark on music industry with their upbeat music and fanatic stage-shows. Since forming in Atlanta, Georgia, the youth's favorite band has traveled a long, arduous but successful journey. Following their 2007 releases, the band took a year-long hiatus during which they had experienced an epiphany as a whole. Now, with their fifth album, 200 Million Thousand, Black Lips has channeled their early days. With constant touring, the band is revisiting the roots rock sound which is helping them to become a tour de force and stronger than ever.

Hailed from Atlanta, Georgia - Black Lips is a flower-punk band. They are characterized distinctly for their crazy live shows. While taking a look at the band history, we shall learn that Black Lips was formed by Cole Alexander, Ben Eberbaugh and Jared Swilley. Ben Eberbaugh was previously associated with The Returns whereas Cole Alexander and bassist Jared Swilley were part of The Renegades. The band was joined by Joe Bradley on drums a few months later. With their upbeat music, Black Lips quickly became one of the popular underground bands in Atlanta. However, they were banned from performing in several venues for their crazy live shows.

Black Lips continued to produce music and released an album, 7-inch, in 2002. 7-inch was issued on the band's own record label, Die Slaughterhaus, and received critical acclaim. In order to promote their album, the band scheduled a tour. But just days before a tour began, the band's guitarist, Ben Eberbaugh, died in an accident. He was killed when his car was struck by a drunk driver. Despite this irreparable loss, the band continued, citing that Eberbaugh would want them to carry on. The void, later on, was filled by Jack Hines who was a friend of the band member.

In 2003, Black Lips released their debut full length self-titled album on Bomp! Records. The album Black Lips got massive popularity in teens audience. Following the success of debut album, the band soon started recording their second studio album. It was titled 'We Did Not Know the Forest Spirit Made the Flowers Grow'. The album, once again, hit the youth but failed to gain critical acclaim. In 2004, Jack Hines was replaced by current guitarist, Ian Saint Pe. Ian Saint Pe was previously associated with the band 'Renegades'.

Black Lips have gradually built a fan-base that appreciates the band's unique style. Black Lips' unique style of music comprises a rough mishmash of blues, country, rock, punk and doo-wop. They call Los Saicos, the 60's Peruvian garage band, their biggest influence. Despite releasing 2 full-length albums and extensive touring - the band was still lacking mainstream popularity. It wasn't until 2006 when did the band gain national attention. They were featured in Rolling Stone and Spin magazines.

The following year, Black Lips got exposure in the New York Times Magazine. The Magazine covered their series of concerts which the band had performed at Southwest music festival in Austin, TX over a three-day period. The band's growing popularity landed them on a lucrative agreement with Vice Records. The Record Label released Black Lips' Los Valientes del Mundo Nuevo in February and Good Bad Not Evil in September 2007. Both albums garnered considerable amount of recognition to the band
