Krewella was formed in 2011 in the Windy City, Chicago. The Illinois based group specializes in electronic dance music, along with retro, synthpop, dubstep, progressive house and electro house. Sisters Jahan Yousuf and Yasmine Yousuf set the basis for Krewella and were later joined by Kris Trindl also known as Rain Man to his fans.
