John David Anderson was born in December 1954 in Orlando and was raised in Apopka, Florida. Anderson's distinct voice quality, infused with a definite country dialect and intonations soon earned him commercial recognition and within the first year of that contract he debuted at the Billboard 100 country charts with his song I've Got a Feelin' and then in the top 40 with his next single Girl at the End of the Bar. This marked the solid start of this country artist's professional music career.
 
Throughout the 80s John Anderson kept consistently producing singles and maintained his stronghold in the genre of country music. However, the pinnacle of his professional life in the 80s came about with the release of his album Wild and Blue which came out in 1982. This was Anderson's fourth music album and is most prominently known for its single Swingin'. The song topped the US country music charts and even scored the 43^rd spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. This became the best-selling record for the Warner Bros Records as well. That season Anderson received five nominations for the prestigious Country Music Awards (CMA). He won the CMA Horizon Award and Swingin' was awarded the CMA for Song of the Year. Anderson continued to produce music after this album but none of his works would match the unprecedented success that he received through Wild and Blue.
 
Eventually in 1991 John Anderson's career rejuvenated with his record Seminole Wind. This album was produced in collaboration with the veteran country music producer James Stroud. It became a commercial and critical success, mostly because of its two main songs namely Seminole Wind and Straight Tequila Night. The album became platinum for two times, selling over 2 million records, which the highest number of sales by any of Anderson's works and earned him three Country Music Awards nominations. Some of his notable subsequent albums include Solid Ground (1993) which went gold in the US, Country Til I Die (1994), Paradise (1996) and Takin' the Country Back (1997). In 1993 John Anderson was bestowed with the Career Achievement Award by the Academy of Country Music.
 
John Anderson continues to produce enchanting country music till today. His most recent album was released in 2009.
