Eugene Onegin is a mesmerizing opera production that is divided into a total of three acts (seven scenes). The music score of the production has been composed by the legendary composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The libretto of the opera has been organized by Tchaikovsky as well as by Konstantin Shilovsky. The libretto is neatly knitted around the passages that can be found in the novel in verse by Alexander Pushkin, while much of the poetry has been retained. Konstantin Shilovsky added a few versers from M. Triquet that can be seen in the scene one of Act two. In scene one of Act one, much of the words have been written by Tchaikovsky himself for the arioso of Lensky's and the entire Prince Gremin's aria that can be seen in Act three in scene one. If you are a fan of opera productions or would like to be a part of a stunning entertaining live show then this is the best time to get your Eugene Onegin tickets and enjoy an unforgettable and fantastic show.

This is one of those opera productions that are an epic example of what a lyric opera is like. The fact that Tchaikovsky added great music to this opera show adds drama to the entire experience. The storyline of the event is based on a hero who is rather selfish and ends up living his life in regret of taking a nonchalant rejection from the love of a young beautiful lady. The story also features the hasty provocation with his best friend that leads to a dangerous fight between the two.

The first time that Eugene Onegin was performed was in 1879 in Moscow. Many recording of this first show can be found today. The opera has become a classic and is performed to date. The title of the opera is in reference with the main character of the show. The history of the opera is interesting. In 1877, the famous opera singer by the name of Yelizaveta Lavrovskaya had a meeting with Tchaikovsky in which they both discussed about making an opera that would be based on the narrative of Pushkin's novel verse. Initially this idea seemed to be rather bold to Tchaikovsky. He thought that the novel was not really all that strong to form the basis of an opera show in which a boy rejects the love of a country girl who later goes on to become a strong worldly woman. The boy goes back to seduce her but all of his efforts are in vain and he has lost the chance that he once had. The entire strength of the novel was literally based on the lead character and its formative development along with the narrative. After putting much thought into the whole project, Tchaikovsky embraced the idea and began working on it. In just one night he created all the scenarios around the opera and soon after began to work fervently on the music score of it.

With the help of Konstantin Shilovsky, Tchaikovsky successfully utilized the original verses from Pushkin's work and selected scenes that were gripping in an emotional way by adding strong and suggestive lyrics to the productions. Hence, it became a "lyrical opera". The fact that much of the opera is scenic, thereby you will not find a continuous story. This keeps the audience of the opera more gripped to all that is happening on the stage. Moreover, Tchaikovsky always believed that his audience will find ways to fill in any details that he has cancelled out. The opera was finally completed in 1878.

Tchaikovsky's major concern with this opera was that would the public really embrace this "lyrical opera" that was not conventional. He knew that the performance of the show would be best if it was done in the most simple and sincere manner. Hence, he gave the first show of the opera to be performed by the students of the prestigious Moscow Conservatory. On the 29th of March in 1878, at the celebrated Maly Theatre in Moscow the show took place that was conducted by Nikolai Rubinstein. As expected, the show was a major hit. Ever since then, the opera has been performed in various countries across the globe and has been loved by all those who are ardent fans of opera.

You can now book your Eugene Onegin tickets and get the chance of watching this absolutely amazing production that is surely going to leave you with many memories to cherish.
