Cirque Eloize is the name of a Quebec based contemporary circus troupe. 'Eloize' is a French word, which means 'heat lightning'. The circus was founded in 1993 by a group of circus art performers named as Daniel Cyr, Jeannot Painchaud and Julie Hamelin. Right after its emergence, the circus became a success, leading to many other productions later on. The travelling circus show started with one show 'Cirque Eloize, le spectacle' which was followed by 6 more shows. The design studio and head office is situated in Montreal. Founding members of Cirque Eloize have also been a part of the 'Cirque du Soleil' team for some time.
