Jefferson Mays

Jefferson Mays, an American theatre and film actor, despite being born and raised in Connecticut, aimed and reached big in his career. Mays trained at Yale College and then proceeded to University of California, San Diego. In 2004, he won the two Tony Awards, an Obie Award and a Theatre World Award for his solo Broadway performance in I Am My Own Wife. In 2007, Mays starred in two highly acclaimed Broadway revivals: Pygmalion and Journey’s End. Currently, he is starring in the 2013 Broadway musical A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, a play which has driven critics wild, also landing him the Outer Critics Circle Award, the Tony Award for ‘Best Performance’, and the Drama Desk Award for ‘Outstanding Actor’.
