Details of Wrigley Field and the Ticket Luck value
Wrigley Field
Serving as the home ballpark of the Chicago Cubs since 1916, Wrigley Field is located in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America.
Wrigley Field was built in 1914 for the Chicago Whales, the Chicago Federal League baseball team with the name Weeghman Park and having a seating capacity of 14,000.
It was also named as the Cubs Park from 1920 to 1926. The name Wrigley Field has been selected because of then owner, William Wrigley Jr., the owner of Wrigley Company.
Then in the years 1921 to 1970 it was the home of Chicago Bears of the National Football League. As recently as on 1st January 2009, it hosted the second NHL Winter Classic.
Since 1981, the owner of the Wrigley Field has been the Tribune Company which decided not to change the name of the stadium.
The stadium is encircled by Clark and Addison Streets and Waveland and Sheffeild Avenues. The area surrounding the stadium has bars, restaurants and other refreshment places and normally called the Wriglyville.
The Wrigley Field has been nicknamed "the friendly confines" by Ernie banks, hall of Famer. Since 2006 up till now, the seating capacity of the stadium has been 41,118 people.
A white flag is a tradition of the Wrigley Field when the Cubs win. This is called the "white flag time at Wrigley". A flag with "L" is shown on top of the stadium when the Cubs loose and a flag with "W" is shown when they win and if the game ends in a draw, both flags are shown.
Flags are also sold before the game which the fans bring to home and show at the winning of the Cubs. On April 24, 2008, an extra flag with the number 10,000 was displayed along with the winning flag to represent the 10,000th win of the Cubs.
The Wrigley Field has this feature of unusual winds. Sometimes the wind can prove good for wining and sometimes it proves bad depending on the direction of the wind.
During the late 1970s" and the early 1980"s, the Wrigley Field was used by the Chicago Sting of the North American Soccer League for the games.
Also the stadium has been used for concerts in the recent years with artists of prominent names like, Elton John, The Police and Jimmy Buffet and many others.
The games at the Wrigley Field had started being watched by people for free who could easily watch the game standing on the roofs of nearby buildings. After a time, this practice became irritating for the people living in the buildings used to watch game for free and they built little bleachers and started charging for watching the game.
This was protested by the stadium authorities who were solved in the end by the agreement between the management and the building owners to share the amount made in this manner. Today Wrigley"s rooftops are a part of the stadium providing varying quality sights depending on the direction of the rooftop.
The stadium had a small part in the Blues Brothers in 1980, a scene in the movie, Ferris Bueller"s day off, quite lot scenes in the movie, rookie of the Year, and in the opening scene of the movie, Breakup.
The try-outs in the movie, League of their Own were filmed at the Wrigley Stadium. Also many television series had scenes of Wrigley Stadium in them like Prison break, Perfect strangers and ER and also in the animated series The Family Guy.
We built Ticket Luck to provide Wrigley Field and other tickets with a unique plan.
Instead of the usual 20% mark up, we decided to go for a 1-2% mark up. At that margin, we don't spend anything on advertizing. If you are lucky enough to find this site, you would have saved a tidy sum for yourself. We hope that we will be successful through word of mouth instead of a massive banner ad. marketing budget.
Our tiny markup pays for the support, the cost of running the website and the toll free number that we provide. We hope to be modestly successful, without being greedy and want you to benefit from our effort. In turn, we hope that you will
pass on the good word and provide us with referrals.
These Wrigley Field Tickets have been bought by fans, who could not make it to the show. The brokers that we deal with collect the Wrigley Field tickets, and we show you the consolidated version. We do appreciate feedback and whether you want to tell us about Wrigley Field Tickets or about our service and idea we sincerely appreciate it. We hope that you will drop us a line, if you like our service. We would love a testimonial too, and would love it on our site. If we can improve
we would love to know about that as well.
The Wrigley Field Tickets are sent via Fed-EX. The prices are often above face value, but that is how the brokers consolidating the tickets from the Wrigley Fieldfans get compensated. We do want to mention, that our tickets are likely to go fast, since the prices are unbelievably low. If you are thinking of getting them, you may want to grab them while they are available.
