Details of Wellmont Theatre and the Ticket Luck value
The Wellmont Theatre is an exceptional live performance venue located in the heart of Montclair region, in the city of New Jersey, U.S. The venue is a well-known for holding several live music and theatrical performances throughout the year. Wellmont Theater opened to general public in the first half of 1922, the same year the first-ever live music performance was held at the prestigious theater. In 1929, the theater made an unusual shift towards mainstream movies, holding regular movie screenings of popular movies from that era. Even today, the theater stands at its original location at the beginning of Seymour Street, just off the Bloomfield Avenue in Downtown Montclair.
In the early fifties, Wellmont Theatre could only accommodate an audience of just over two thousand spectators. The seating capacity has since drastically increased as a direct result of several ambitious renovations and extension projects undertaken by the theater administration. During the mid-'atre's height was increased to make room for ever-increasing population of theatre and cinema lovers. The theatre's main entrance was also moved just around the corner from the lobby area, and the previously designated emergency fire exit was chosen as the new entrance of the theatre. The space previously used as a lobby was converted into a restaurant for providing food and refreshments to the visitors.
The Wellmont Theater has several auditoriums including the balcony theatre, which is the single largest seating area in the whole facility. During the renovation and extension project, the theatre administration decided to create two separate auditoriums with small screens in the area previously used for the purpose of orchestra seating. In 2008, the theatre once again went under extensive refurbishment process, costing the authorities some three million dollars. As a result of these restoration efforts, the theater received new plumbing and electrical systems, along with new bars for the mezzanine and orchestra area. In total, over five million dollars worth of renovations have been made since the opening of Wellmont Theater in the early 1920's.
In 2006, the Wellmont Theatre was bought by its new owners, who later closed the venue for a period of two years. In 2008, the theatre reopened as a concert venue following extensive renovations undertaken to turn the venue into an exclusive staging venue for live music and other events. As a result of these renovations, the theatre was once again brought back to its traditional setting with only a single screen in place, created by taking down the triplex format.
