The Von Braun Center Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena, meeting and performing arts complex located in Huntsville, Alabama. It is a sun-venue of the Von Braun Center. Formerly known as the Von Braun Civic Center, the 10,000 seat Arena, 2,153 seats Concert Hall and 502 seats Playhouse Theatre can also be used as meeting areas for conferences or seminars. In addition to the arena, the Von Braun Center features various exhibit halls, a concert hall, and many other facilities for meetings and exhibits. The arena is named in honor of Werner von Braun who was one of the leading figures in the development of rocket technology in Germany and the United States and was the preeminent rocket engineer of the twentieth century. The arena has been through numerous renovations since its opening day and is yet planning to go under another one pretty soon. It was announced on 23rd October, 2008, that the Von Braun Center Arena would undergo a massive $15 million renovation and would be renamed the Propst Arena, after the family that donated $5 million to the city for the expansion.

The Von Braun Center Arena opened on March 14th in the year 1975. Notable Huntsvillians performing that night were Ken Turvey, Albert Lane, Lady Shivers Tucker and Mike Sheehy. The very famous Elvis Presley appeared May 30 through June 1 for an unprecedented five performances which was the first time he had played that many consecutive performances in a venue outside of Las Vegas. The Arena's first rock show featured the Electric Light Orchestra with Sugarloaf and Jo Jo Gunne. Other rock groups appearing that year were the Doobie Brothers, the Jackson Five, Jimmy Buffett, the Allman Brothers and Jethro Tull. In its first six months of operation, the Civic Center drew over a half million attendees. A lot of country artists were also played host to by this arena, such as Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Charlie Pride and Chet Atkins.

Over the years, the arena has been host to various events including major concerts, family shows and circuses, as well as sporting events like basketball, ice hockey, football, soccer, rodeos, and more. The arena has hosted famous events like NBDL basketball, the former Huntsville Flight, UAH Chargers ice hockey, Oakwood University's Alumni Celebration, Huntsville Blast, Huntsville Channel Cats and Huntsville Havoc ice Hockey, and Tennessee Valley Vipers Arena 2 Football, among other events. The Von Braun Center Arena was also the sight of the first ever Total Nonstop Action Wrestling card that featured in-ring cameos by Toby Keith and Sterling Marlin. The Von Braun Concert Hall is host to Broadway Theater League, Community Ballet, and Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. The Von Braun Center Playhouse plays host to Fantasy Playhouse, Huntsville Opera Theater, and Theater Huntsville.
