Two more MLB teams namely Florida Marlins and Montréal Expos have played for their spring training sessions. This happened when Montreal Expos was sold and Florida Marlins exchanged their training sites with the Expos. This allowed the Space Coast to hold spring training seasons for the Expos to play. After the 2003 and 2004 seasons the Marlins wrapped and incarnated as Washington National. Along side FSL's Brevard County Manatees who have been Space Coast Stadium's oldest tenants; Washington Nationals have made it their spring training ground. Expos came for a year's duration in 2003, played two seasons and left in 2004.
 
The Washington National franchise is responsible for taking care of the yearly stadium-construction bond incur, until 2013. As their tenants the lease of the Nationals ends in 2012. The Nationals came here for their inaugural spring training at the Space Coast in 2005.  Since then this franchise comes here each season trains and on season played an average of seven plus games. The Washington Nationals are a hot team and their games have attracted more than four thousand spectators each season.  The GCL Nationals of the GCL also became tenants of the Space Coast Stadium in 2005 and remain with it to date.
