Smirnoff Music Centre
Smirnoff Music Center was opened in 1988 in Dallas, Texas as the part of Fair Park Complex in Dallas. The Fair Park Complex mainly comprised of museums, gardens, aquariums, Cotton Bowl Football Stadium and lagoon, which was built along with the Fair Park Auditorium, formerly Known as the Smirnoff Centre.
In fact, Smirnoff Centre wasnt the only auditorium that was built with in the Fair Park Complex; apart from Smirnoff Centre 5 other music venues were also established.
Due to the historic significance of the complex, it is also listed as the National Historic Landmark. Reportedly, Fair Park Complex also houses the North Americas largest Ferris wheel with in it premises.
Smirnoff Centers seating area is further divided up in to two parts, one of which is covered with the pavilion, while the other one is open air sloping loan. The seating capacity in the pavilion is up to 7,533 seats while additional seats are set up on the loan, whose count goes up to 12, 578 seats.
Fair Park Auditorium was originally named the Coca Cola Starplex Amphitheatre, as it was opened in 1988. The naming rights of the amphitheatre were bought by the Coca Cola Company through a 10 years contract that expired in 1998, after which the name of the amphitheatre was changed back to Starplex Amphitheatre.
The amphitheatre remained with that name for the next two years, until the naming rights were sold of to the Smirnoff, Vodka Company, by the House of Blues. House of Blues is the current owner of the amphitheatre and apart from that, House of Blues owns more than a 100 music venues and restaurants across the nation.
Smirnoff kept their naming rights for almost 8 years till 2008, when the contract expired and the rights were then sold of to the current owner of the naming rights, Superpages.Com.
