The RBC Center is the second largest in the ACC. It has a capacity of accommodating up to 18,680 for ice hockey, 19,722 people for basketball, 19,500 for concerts, and 18,800 for other performances. Additionally, it features 2,000 club seats and 75 luxury suites. The Royal Bank of Canada plays host to basketball and hockey games, concerts and other family oriented entertainment events. Its history dates back to July 1997, when its construction began with a groundbreaking ceremony. It was built at the cost of $158 million, and opened its doors to public in October 1999 as the Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena. Raleigh saw the Carolina Hurricanes hosting the New Jersey Devils in an NHL game at the facility the same month.

In 2002, a corporate sponsor, RBC Bank, changed the name of the Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena to its present name, The RBC Center. Today, the RBC Center plays host to over 150 events and draws more than 1.5 million guests on annual basis. There are three concourses, and over 50 places to eat at the Royal Bank of Canada Center. These eateries and restaurants provide visitors with dinning options such as fine dinning, burgers, hot dogs, BBQ, and other classic food. The RBC Center continually provides people of Raleigh with varied opportunities by bringing in an abundance of sports primarily. However, it also features major concert tours and a diverse range of family-oriented entertainment events.

To-date, the RBC Center has seen many memorable moments which put the venue on map. One unforgettable moment came when the Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup on June 19, 2006 and became North Carolina's first major professional sports champion.
