Located on Hennepin Avenue, the Pantages Theater is named after Greek immigrant Alexander Pantages who constructed this place among 500 theatres. The splendid theater was designed by Minneapolis architectural firm Kees & Colburn and is now owned by the city itself. During its long history, it witnessed both glory and downfall but eventually emerged as the winner. The Pantages was closed in 1984 only to be restored in 2002, when it was reopened after complete renovation on November 7.
