Michie Stadium
Located at the U.S Military Academy in West Point, New York, Michie Stadium is home to the NCAA"s football team of Army Black Knights.
The outdoor football Stadium is operated by U.S Military Academy and was opened in 1924. To date, Michie Stadium can accommodate up to 40,000 audience members in the stadium that was constructed with the total cost of $300,000.
The stadium is named after a football enthusiast, Dennis Michie who started the sport at the academy in 1890. The team that he managed and coached was the first ever football team in the vicinity of West Point.
Almost 8 years later after he started all this, he was killed in action during Spanish-American War.

The stadium is equipped with the AstroTurf surface, which took the place of normal grass surface in 1977.
The main aim of the change in the surface of the stadium was to reduce the maintenance costs and also to provide a good practice place for the Army team.
Later in 1984, AstroTurf was replaced by SuperTurf only to be changed by AstroTurf 8 in 1992.
