Mesa Arts Center
The new Mesa Arts Center is a 212,755-square-foot performing arts, visual arts, and arts education facility, the biggest and most inclusive arts center in the state of Arizona. Found in the heart of downtown at Center and Main Streets, Mesa Arts Center replicates the city’s prosperous custom of family, community and pride.
This magnificent gathering place is designed to introduce the spectators to a world of arts and culture – enveloping from art exhibitions to top-notch performances to modern studios for art education. The inspiration for Mesa Arts Center’s design was taken from the exclusive and inimitable nature of the Sonoran Desert – a rich desert, mountain and canyon environment. The campus embraces a complex of four theaters, Mesa Contemporary Arts’ galleries and exhibition space, two Art Studios buildings with visual and performing arts studios and classrooms, casual performance areas, executive support space, and a 700-foot Shadow Walk.
The purpose of Mesa Arts Center is to motivate and instigate people through influencing and engaging arts experiences that are sundry, available, and germane; and which augment the eminence of existence and vivacity of the greater region. The revelation of Mesa Arts Center is to become the leading arts center in the West.
The new Mesa Arts Center is the largest arts center in the state of Arizona and the only center offering comprehensive professional performing arts, visual arts and arts education programming all on one easily accessible campus.
Theaters at Mesa Contemporary Arts present outstanding professional touring entertainment including Broadway-style Theater, classical and popular music, ethnic and western artists, dance, family entertainment, and a free concert series, in addition to, Stage works (formerly Mesa Youtheatre) produces educational plays for young audiences, and showcases its improvisational theater and dance troupes.
