History
Lexington Opera House was not a new construction from a scratch but it was built on the older opera house in 1886 that was gutted down due to accidental fire in it.
The design of construction was altogether new and was conceived by Oscar Cobb who was an architect specialized in theatrical designs. The architect was form Chicago. The opening of Newer and more beautiful Opera House was marked by a special edition of "Our Angel" play.
The Opera was housed in a triple storey structure that was able to accommodate up to 1,250 audiences. The stage was another master piece of architect with balconies on both sides. It also housed two boxed shaped rest areas on its sides.
The interior of the house was given much attention during the construction and the decoration and cushioning was entirely based on morocco which was a soft leather made from goatskin from Turkey. The racks for hat, umbrella and cane and coats were provided in sufficient quantity for the visitors.
There is also a gallery located in one of the balconies that has snapshots of superstars, pop idols, movie stars, big shots, public figures and other famous artists.
