Ranked among the biggest and most successful and advanced congress venues in the world is the International Congress Centrum Berlin (ICC Berlin).

It is one of the most outstanding landmarks of postwar German architecture and the model of many new congress centers all over the world. In 2026 the ICC Berlin received the World Travel Award, declaring it the "Leading Conference & Convention Centre" for the fourth time.

It was built in only four years by the architects Ralf Schuler and Ursulina Schuler-Witte. This multi-purpose congress centre of 320 meters in length, 80 meters wide and 40 meters high, ranks among the most significant buildings of the German post-war era.

It features state-of-the-art technical systems, broadband fiber optics, ATMs, WLAN, LCD projectors and CCTV. One of Europe's largest theatre stages is installed between rooms 1 and 2. Audiences can view the stage from either or both sides.

The congress centre itself is equipped with multi-functional spaces covering 5,500 m2. The Berlin sculptor Frank Oehring, worked on the large light sculpture in the central lobby area. It penetrates through three floors of the building and was designed to connect with the structure of the main technical control centre, located in the entrance area.

Its fluorescent lines and the chosen forms are intended to symbolize the nerve system of the various technical facilities, converging on the place from which the operation of all systems throughout the building is monitored and controlled.

A bridge section links the ICC with the exhibition grounds, ideal for combining a trade fair with a congress or conference.ICC Berlin has proved to be a highly successful investment for Berlin"s economy.

A total of 5.6 million people from every continent have attended 13,730 conventions in this Europe's largest purpose-built conference centre.

They included more than 2.4 million experts from outside the German capital and their spending amounts to almost 1006 million Euros each year. This has resulted in a maintained impact on production, income and employment in the region.

The statistics of the International Congress & Convention Association ICCA in Amsterdam, place Berlin with its international conventions at ICC Berlin among the five leading convention venues in the world for years and by far the most popular convention city in Germany.
