The state of the art facility, located in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin, USA- the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, is northeast Wisconsin"s premiere venue for the performing arts.

The venue features the M&I Bank Broadway Across America-Fox Cities and the Boldt Arts Alive! series and is home to the Fox Valley Symphony.

The doors of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center opened to the public on 25th November in the year 2002. It happened only 31 months after breaking ground. The new facility with a worth of $45 million, was built in a record amount of time.

Soon after its grand opening, the center was able to accomplish its goal of raising the $45 million through the private contributions of over 2,700 local residents and businesses. Zeidler Grinnell Partnership Architects was hired to design the Center and the O.J. Boldt Construction Company began construction on the Center in May 2000.

Artec Inc. was there to provide acoustical and theatrical consulting for the Center. The Center comprises of Thrivent Financial Hall, Kimberly-Clark Theater, Founders Room, and Entrance 21. The Center houses the 2,100-seat Thrivent Financial Hall and the smaller, multi-purpose Kimberly-Clark Theater.

Thrivent Financial Hall"s 40 foot proscenium separates a 5,000 square foot stage from the 2,100-seat theater of which no seat is further than 180 feet from the stage. The walls of the theater are finished in a red Veneciano plastering technique, which complements the red seats and brass accents.

Whereas, the Kimberly-Clark Theater is a flexible black-box theatrical space that is finished with beautiful maple floors and red acoustical curtains to help in softening the look of the room. The 4, 160 square foot space is ideal for receptions, banquets, lectures and intimate theatrical and music presentations.

Since opening, the Center has hosted 13 Wisconsin premieres of Broadway Touring titles, including Disney"s The Lion King and High School Musical, The Producers, s Mel Brooks musical and Movin" Out , which was an energetic show set to the songs of Billy Joel.

Another Broadway blockbuster, Wicked, is set to make its statewide premiere at the Center in the 2008/09 season. Great personalities like Tonny Bennet, Mikhail Gorbachev, Bill Cosby, Richard Chamberlain, Richard Thomas and Garrison Keillor have graced the stage of Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.

The last year"s 2007/08 season the Center hosted 104 Community use events. The highlights worth mentioning are the local student participation both on and off the main stage.

Sixty-three percent of Center- presented events included a Menashsa Corporation Community Engagement Activity, each designed to engage patrons beyond the stage performance. The activity resulted in creating a deeper and a stronger commitment to the arts and the Center.

The Center has recently completed successful five years in the Community and it celebrated its anniversary very lavishly, as during the fifth anniversary season, the Center also celebrated selling more than one million tickets!
