Eastern States Exposition
The Eastern State Exposition is the largest agricultural fair of the New England. Also known as "the Big E" (a name devised in the year 1968), the Eastern State Exposition is only cross-state agricultural fair of the United States.

It comprises six countries of the New England which include; Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut and is the sixth largest fair of United States.

The Eastern State Exposition was first held in 1917 as a result of Joshua L. Brook"s brain seed. The basic purpose of arranging this fair was to encourage the farmers and potential agriculturer by creating a healthy competition environment among themselves.

Another rationale for this agricultural exhibition was to bring forward new technologies and innovations in the field of agriculture and farming. Except the great World War I and II, nothing has ever stopped the Eastern State Exposition from taking place since the time it first started back in 1917.

The Big E Season
The Eastern State Exposition is held at Massachusetts every year in autumn season. It lasts for two weeks which would include three weekends.

The great exposition stars on the second Friday after the Labor Day. The farmers, throughout the New England, work hard all year long with the ambition to display their agricultural produce at the Eastern State Exposition in autumn.

"Avenue of States"

All the State Houses are manages and administered by their respective State Police Force. The Avenue of States is a great tourist attraction for people throughout the United States.

Horse and Cattle Show
A special Livestock show, or a Horse and Cattle Show, is held at the Eastern State Exposition every year. These shows are held at the Mallary Complex (cattle show) and The Big E Coliseum (horse show) and prove to be a great attraction for the farmers and livestock companies.

Other Events at the Grounds of the Eastern State Exposition The fairgrounds of Massachusetts, used for the Eastern State Exposition every year in autumn, are used for a number of other activities throughout the year.

Much famous among these events are the Springfield RV Camping and Outdoor Show, Big Railroad Hobby Show, Springfield Sportsman Show, Massachusetts Twisters National Indoor Soccer League home games and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers exhibition.
