Comcast Theatre
The Comcast Theatre held by Live Nation is a multipurpose entertainment facility for the people of Hartford, Connecticut. The Comcast amphitheatre offers indoor as well as outdoor seating arrangement. The venue was originally called the Meadow Music Theatre then recently the name was changed to New England Dodge Music Center. The current owner Live Nation gave it the name of Comcast Theatre. The theatre has been renamed several times but the tradition of great performances continues to stay.
The Live Nation is actually a live event company from California. The Company has around 117 event venues all around the world including 75 different locations in USA. These venues offer variety of recreational facilities as it has several amphitheatres, theatres, clubs, arenas and festival sites thus making Live Nation a big name in the field of music and entertainment.
The Comcast Theatre in Hartford carries special importance due to its unique built. In summers when the outdoor seating is available for the shows Comcast Theatre becomes the biggest amphitheatre all over America. The total capacity of the venue is 30,000 with 7,500 indoor seating and around 22,500 in the lawn area. This performing art Centre is designed by Jeter Cook and Jepson Architects Inc., and it was constructed by the Turner Building company of Connecticut.
The Amphitheatre's rolling door adds uniqueness to its design as the door shuts the pavilion for the shows in winters or for rehearsals. The enormous removable stage lends the location extreme flexibility for a variety of events. The quartet columns structure in the seating area not only supports the built but offers least obstruction of view during the shows ensuring maximum convenience and enjoyment.
