The seating capacity was increased up to 4,600 seats. An on site parking facility was constructed. However, in an effort to preserve the original flavor of the founder"s idea, the restaurant was left as is.

Ownership of the theatre changed hands.SFX Entertainment, a worldwide corporation that operates approximately 1,213 radio and 19 television stations in the U.S., including local stations WKCI-FM and WELI-AM, purchased the Oakdale Theatre in the year 1998.

Jim Koplik, president of SFX Entertainment now known as Clear Channel Entertainment Connecticut, oversees the Oakdale operation, also running the Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford at the same time.

The Chevrolet Theatre is the first theatre in New England to have corporate suites. Suites accommodate 10 and 16 seats and provide the ideal setting for conferences and other corporate functions.
