In January 1936, Robert Boller of Kansas City designed building opened. In 1981, the theater was once again renovated.

After developing into a state-of-the-art concert hall by Mountain Productions, Boulder Theater began featuring diverse acts such as Bonnie Raitt, the Plasmatics, Jeff Lorber and Timothy Leary. Seven years later, the Venue was transformed into a multi-use hall with cabaret style seating.

In 1995, Boulder Theater was sold to New Hope Communications. They operated it primarily as an entertainment venue, while bringing in non-musical and community events. The venue put up on stage several internationally acclaimed performances, organized large-scale conferences, offered various programs and hence became a top-choice of the times.

The Boulder Theater once again experienced renovations. This time, they expanded the theater"s capabilities as a multi-use facility. Today, the historic Boulder Theater unites the past with the future in one exceptional space. It is classic in design and features prime sound and an impressive tradition of the best in entertainment.

Today, the Boulder Theater hosts nightly concerts and film screenings and features rock, folk, bluegrass, jazz, hip-hop and comedy. The Venue is also noted for playing host to community events.

While it remains a popular venue for local entertainers, the Boulder Theater"s preserved art deco ornamentation, cabaret-style seating and state-of-the art sound and lighting system draw national and international artists. So far, the theater has presented Lou Reed, Bill Maher, Herbie Hancock, Norah Jones and many.
