The multi-purpose arena, Asheville Civic Center, is situated in downtown Asheville at 87 Haywood Street, North Carolina. It comprises of 7,654 seats.
The Asheville Civic Center is a convenient plus elegant venue for great local and national concerts and shows, everything from Broadway shows to Asheville Symphony Orchestra concerts.

The Asheville Civic Center was home to the Asheville Altitude basketball team in the NBDL before the franchise moved to Tulsa in 2005 and the United Hockey League's Asheville Smoke and also the SPHL's Asheville Aces.

The most popular proposals from the community is to rebuild the building in the same location or in an area south of city hall, at the Biltmore Square Mall site or some where near the Western North Carolina Agriculture Center.
The facility is the heart of downtown Asheville"s arts and entertainment scene as it offers its people diverse entertainment. Just like every season, this season too, Asheville Civic Center is planning to provide is people with a lot of entertainment and fun with its upcoming events.
Recently, in November, Widespread Panic played a special Thanksgiving weekend, which was a two-night run at the Civic Center. Fans had gathered from all around the places to be a part of this outstanding event.
The most recent event is that the Ashville Civic Center will begin offering public ice-skating sessions as soon as the problem gets resolved with the ice making machine at the facility.
The ice skating sessions were to start this Monday, i.e. 22nd December. 08, however, due to some technical problem with the ice-making machine, the program has gotten postponed.
The Civic Center staff members are currently working on repairs and now it is expected to open on the 26th of December, 08. After this, there"s going to be National Cheer Stars in the arena in the coming January, starting from 9th of Jan. to 11th of Jan.
